![]() The new city, electricity, cars, and such simply steal the charm away from the show. The show is missing the feel of the original. He ends up playing the field for almost the whole season (having a girlfriend and also another sorta-kinda girlfriend on the side). ![]() He kisses Korra and never mentions it to his girlfriend. Also a big dislike for me: THE CHEATING. The message is not good: Better looks equals more substance? I think not. Mako doesn't have as much personality as Bolin (brother of male protagonist), just better looks, so of course Korra likes him more. Their relationship was just pushed from the get-go. The Romances: I feel like Korra (main female protagonist) and Mako (male protagonist) never really had a chance to make a deep connection. My only criticism of the show is based on two things.ġ. Bolin was always funny and the action was pretty good. The episodes flew by like seconds instead of minutes. I've watched the entire first season and I admit the last few episodes had me on the edge of my seat. Overall the legend of korra brings great visual effects and action pack scenes. Whereas aang's journey focuses more on the role of each character making it more suitable for viewers, allowing them to know more about the characters and make the series an overall unforgettable jouney of avatar aang as an individual it made me feel attached to legend of aang because of the creative story they portray. I think it's a bit easy and fast for them to have relationships like that considering they all met together in a little amount of time and in some of the episodes its a bit awkward for asami and korra having the same ex and at the same time working as one team. This sequel has a lot of misguided relationships like asami and mako turned to korra and mako and so on. Her friends are not that close to her unlike aang's adventures with katara, toph and sokka that have deeper connections with the avatar. She acts like she had everything under control but makes pretty bad choices for the world she's bound to protect. Nonetheless, the series is good, but I wouldn't let an 8-year-old watch this. Also, there is implied drinking and hangovers, as well as some pretty blatant sexual innuendo. He states that he cannot make up his mind who he likes, so he likes both of them, while Korra uses his little brother Bolin as a temporary comfort after Mako rejects Korra's initial invitation to a date (despite being in a relationship with Asami). Mako cheats on his girlfriend Asami while she is blissfully unaware with Korra. While Korra herself is a great role model, her romantic choices are definately something no kid should ever take to heart. The episode revolves around the romance of the main characters. They are now commonplace in this series, along with more visible pain from receiving blows from rocks, fists, and so on.Įpisode Five, "The Spirit of Competition" is the episode that marks this as being inappropriate for young kids. ![]() Kicks to the face or groin were rarely seen in the original series. The main villain and his minions are extremely frightening he can disable their bending abilities permanently while his minions can disable temporarily, all causing great pain to the bender. The original series was rather lighthearted at times, but Legend of Korra is more darker, more intense, and more mature. Nick has been marketing it to young teens to adults and I am starting to see why. However, by episode three, I start to question if this is for anyone below the age of 13. The first two episodes are rather calm and normal.
